Searching for Beautiful (Searching for #3)

Jennifer Probst writes an intricate series about spell books (that may or may not help them fall in love) and magical touch (that can tell if two people are meant to be). It’s always nice to image that some people are destined to be together no matter the odds or a persons stubbornness. (I’m hinting at the guys’ with this one). Jennifer Probst’s Searching for Beautiful is a story about pain of the past and fear of the future, all tied up in lasting friendship. Here is a brief background provided by Goodreads; Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin…and flings her right into her best friend’s arms.

When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.

Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?

This is definitely a question that I myself have trouble answering. Could a friendship turn into something more, something deeper? Well, this novel has it all. It has the suspense of a unreqquitted love, deep, dark seeded secrets, and fear that is more paralyzing than walking on a tight-rope. What I enjoyed most about this novel would be the evolution of their friendship. It’s not something one expects. I liked that the girls from Kinnextions make a special appearance in helping Gen figure out what she wants. I didn’t like that fact that she was not that strong as a female lead, but she was realistic. It was very close to what happens to a woman when in an abusive relationship. Although I didn’t like the fact that nothing came from the abusive boyfriend. He got away with it all. I did not like that aspect of it. I also did not like Wolfe’s story. It was too hard for me to read. I want something fluffy and innocent, not dark and traumatic. It was way too dark for me.

The romance was uplifting and beautiful, and the sex was hot, hot, hot! The scenes flowed from one to the next and the sex was beautiful and passionate. Something everyone is looking for.

I give this romance 4 out of 5. I enjoyed it, but there were a few things that could be better. Don’t forget to look for the next novel in this series.
