Bite Me ( The Pride #9)

I am a huge fan of Shelly Laurenston. I have read every single novel she has published. And I simple enjoy them all. She has a great writing skill that mixes humor, passion, and  craziness into a great series about shifters.  Here is a brief background about this novel provided by Goodreads: Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise.

That’s where Vic Barinov comes in—or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge…

I love shifters! They encompass a range of emotions many that are directly related to the animal they shift into. In case you don’t know Shifters can shift into an animal (very specific) and it has no correlation to the lunar cycle. It’s just something they can do. They are the ultimate predators. In this novel Livy, a honey badger, and Vic, a half-grizzly/half-siberian tiger, are trying to find the person that has been hunting down their people and stuffing them. Rude! I love the fact that these characters are completely crazy and that it’s actually a good thing. They need to be crazy in order to deal with some of the stuff they go through. A honey badger! I just want to giggle every time I hear that word. I love how “right” Liv and Vic are together. You would think that these two characters would never end up together, yet somehow they work well. I also love seeing past characters again. They continue to make me laugh and smile when they annoy the main characters. I really cannot find something wrong with this novel. I really enjoyed it and I enjoyed the conclusion on the main issue that was present throughout the last few novels.

As for the sex, well they are animals! That just means the sex was AWESOME!!!! Aggressive, loving, torturous, passionate, and hot. I loved how they ended up together for the first time. Not what I expected or where for that matter. I loved that Vic surprised me. He is just a great guy. I really don’t want to give too much away so I’ll simple say this was a really good book.

Overall I give this novel 5 out 5! Simply enjoyed every bit. I cannot wait for her next novel to come out. I have no idea what it might be, but I look forward to it anyways. If you love paranormal romance with strong female characters this is a series you must read. I have no idea what I’m reading next, so we’ll see. Happy readings everybody!
