Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels #3)

This was an interesting novel that gave you a bit more information about Kate Daniels family tree. Here a brief summary about the novel provided by Goodreads: Drafted into working for the Order of Merciful Aid, mercenary Kate Daniels has more paranormal problems than she knows what to do with these days. And in Atlanta, where magic comes and goes like the tide, that’s saying a lot.
But when Kate’s werewolf friend Derek is discovered nearly dead, she must confront her greatest challenge yet. As her investigation leads her to the Midnight Games—an invitation only, no holds barred, ultimate preternatural fighting tournament—she and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the face of Atlanta’s shapeshifting community…

There is so many things happening in this novel. Things get a bit more intense with Kate and her new friends. I love learning more about Kate’s powers and how she tries to hide it so hard. Derek is now Kate’s friend and the one that is on trouble this time. Derek is seriously injured and needs Kate’s help to find a cure and to avenge the slight. I also really enjoy Kate’s interactions with the Beastlord. Curran is such an interesting character. I love their witty banter. They never fail to amuse me. I think that’s what makes these novels so great. The sex may be absent for the novels but the anticipation and the build up is so worth it. I thought this storyline was very interesting. I did not know where it would lead especially not to Kate’s past. Things are getting more interesting by the minute.

I can’t tell you much more because it is written like a mystery and I do not want to give away the important facts. Overall, I give this novel a 5 out 5. Simply fantastic. I could not put the novel down. Stay tuned for more.
