Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack #1)

Pack Challenge

These three women have to be my favorite of all time. Three friends that are crazy, impulsive, don’t stand for any bullshit, and pretty much the most passionate women around. I seriously wish I had them as friends just imagine the stories! Okay, here is a brief background on the novel so you know what I am talking about (provided by Goodreads of course):What’s an Alpha Male to do when he meets the Alpha Female of his dreams? Step one, hide all sharp objects. All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn’t need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it. Sara Morrighan knew this was the best she could expect from her life. Good friends. A nice place to live. And a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew she wanted more. She knew she wanted him. But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she’s doing with the snarling. Even her best friends are starting to wonder what’s going on with her. But this is only the beginning. Sara’s about to find out her life was meant for so much more. And Zach’s about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, and strong violence.

I love this novel. Actually I love this author. Shelly Laurenston is able to create this universe where people change into animals (i.e. shifters) and carry all the characteristics of the animals within their human personalities. For example, Lion males, who are usually found in the wild sleeping while the females do the hunting, now in Laurenston’s series the human version of the lion males are well… lazy, obsessed with their hair, have amazing sex drives and are overall obnoxious. This is pretty much what I think male lions in the jungle do. This really makes the series for me. Plus… the humor. Not many authors can combine paranormal with humor but this book has it very well. I love the three main women in this series, Sara, Miki, and Angelina. These three have a special bond that goes beyond friendship and really branches into sisterhood. They act like sisters. Also, this novel does a great job giving the reader enough information on the background of how the people came to be shifters. I love that.

As for the sex, OMG! It is phenomenal. There is a lot of sex in this book and well in the entire series. And let’s be honest when dealing with predators it’s not vanilla sex it’s steam rising, heart racing, breathless making sex scenes. There is no gentle where they come from, but it is full of passion. They act just like predators would, they claim their mates without the bullshit that can happen in other novels.

Overall, I give this novel 5 out 5 wolves! I thought it was great. I mean, if you loved the Dragon Kin books that I reviewed earlier, you are going to love this series. (It’s written by the same woman). I cannot wait for her next book to come out. Super excited. I will keep you all updated on that as well. Stay tuned for my next review Go Fetch!
