Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels #7)

Oh Dear God! This book was amazing. I think it was pretty much the best book of the series, but only because the characters advances so well. As you might guess this novel is the 7th in the Kate Daniels series created by the husband and wife team Ilona Andrews. Here is a brief background provided by Goodreads: As the mate of the Beast Lord, Curran, former mercenary Kate Daniels has more responsibilities than it seems possible to juggle. Not only is she still struggling to keep her investigative business afloat, she must now deal with the affairs of the pack, including preparing her people for attack from Roland, a cruel ancient being with god-like powers. Since Kate’s connection to Roland has come out into the open, no one is safe—especially those closest to Kate.

As Roland’s long shadow looms ever nearer, Kate is called to attend the Conclave, a gathering of the leaders from the various supernatural factions in Atlanta. When one of the Masters of the Dead is found murdered there, apparently at the hands of a shapeshifter, Kate is given only twenty-four hours to hunt down the killer. And this time, if she fails, she’ll find herself embroiled in a war which could destroy everything she holds dear…

Kate’s Father is finally in this novel! I have been waiting to figure out who Roland is and how he would act. This is the novel that answers a lot of questions that the others novels bring up. I also love how much Kate grows as an individual in this novel and especially this series. She has gone from a female lead that does not want people in her life out of fear and now is surrounded by people she loves and love her. I think it was a great addition to the story. I also loved the conflict in this novel, I wish there was more of Andrea and Rafael. I wanted more of the supporting characters because they really help make Kate crazy, which is hilarious to read.

The one great thing about Paranormal romance or whatever you want to call it is needs hilarity to be good. At least in my opinion. Anyways. As for the sex scenes…. oh… my…. god! Hot damn. They get it on good. Curran and Kate are such an interesting couple, but i really love their interactions between each other. They do not hold each other with kid gloves but really give it their all. So their sex really reflects their relationship. Super hot and sexy. I cannot wait for the next novel in the series.

Overall I give this novel 5 out 5. I simply enjoyed it and cannot wait to read more from this series. I know I will be rereading this novel soon.
