This anthology contains three short stories from the In Death series. I will briefly write on each in this post. But first, here is a brief background on the three stories and their names provided by Goodreads: Eternity in Death
A seductive killer is luring in victims with a promise of the impossible-immortality. Eve Dallas must strip away the fantasy to catch the cold hearted madman.
Ritual in Death
Eve is plunged into the violent aftermath of a ritualistic murder-and into the mind of an alleged witness who can’t remember a thing to save his life.
Missing in Death
When a woman disappears from a New York City ferry, it’s a case that only Eve Dallas can solve because the woman didn’t jump, and yet she’s not on board.
Eternity in Death was an interesting story about Vampires! Yes, you read that correctly. And now your thinking but wait In death is science fiction not paranormal. And again you would be correct. It was interesting to see the story follow the occult . Many people like to believe that they can stop the aging and live forever as a vampire. And sometimes its a scam. In this case it’s murder and it’s Eve’s job to solve the murder no matter what. I thought this was an interesting take on vampirism. I will not give it anything away. I hate spoilers, so I will just mention that the sex was great even if there was only one scene in this story. 5 out of 5 for this story.
Ritual in Death was so sad. I felt so bad about the victim that survived. This one was heartbreaking to read because of who died and how they were connected to the other victim. This was a hard story to read because there was a sex crime in this story. I thought it was a great story but it reminded me a bit too much of the other story Ceremony in Death. I give this story 4 out of 5.
The last story in this anthology was Missing in Death. Now this was an interesting story. How does a victim disappear from a boat surrounded by over 200 people. An interesting thought. I thought this was great and very interesting to see how the killer worked this out. The story was short but You get to see more of Eve and Roarke’s relationship and the gray area that they both believe in when a killer kills another killer. It makes an interesting debate.
Overall, great stories. I wont be writing another review for a while. I am getting way to tired with work and school at the moment. I promise to write as soon as I can. If you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to comment below. Happy Readings!
