Indulgence in Death (In Death # 31)

Okay, this is the book I was missing from the series and could not figure out where it was. Well, I have finally read it. So my reviews will be a little out-of-order but that’s okay. It just means I can add a few details that I would have otherwise not write. Here is a brief background on the murders that Eve Dallas has to solve provided by Goodreads: First it was a limo driver shot through the neck with a crossbow. Then it was a high-priced escort found stabbed through the heart with a bayonet.
Random hits, thrill kills, murderers with a taste for the finer things in life-and death-are making NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas angry. And an angry Eve can be just as an efficient and dangerous predator as the killer.
As time runs out on another innocent victim’s life, Eve’s investigation will take her into the rarefied circle that her husband, Roarke, travels in-and into the perverted heart of madness…

This one was an interesting story and I was really intrigued by the seemingly lack of motive for the victims. It’s not until half-way through the novel that you see the pieces come together. I simply love the beginning with Roarke’s family. It’s great to see more of them and read more about their character. Sean, Roarke’s relative is so funny and entertaining. Especially when he talks with Eve. I thought the storyline was great and really kept me guessing through the entire novel. There is an interesting part near the end that involves a witness. I caution everyone that was a bit hard to read emotionally. So be prepared.

I love Roarke. Why can’t he be real? Seriously! I love the relationship dynamics that happen between Roarke and Eve. They are simple the perfect couple. Okay, also be prepared to fan yourself off for a couple of the scenes. They need to steam up the glasses. The sex scenes are great filled with love and passion.

Overall, I give this novel a 5 out of 5. I enjoyed it and will definitely will read it again and again. I hope everyone is enjoying this series as much as I am.
