New York to Dallas (In Death #33)

I am seriously getting confused with the book numbers in this series. Oh, well. I have to say I just finished this book about a half hour ago and I am still shocked to my very core about what we find out. Let me rewind for a bit. Here is a brief background provided by Goodreads: Twelve years ago, Eve Dallas was just a rookie NY cop when her instincts led her to the apartment of Isaac McQueen, a man she discovered to be a sick murderer and pedophile, who was keeping young girls in cages. Now a homicide Lieutenant, Eve is one of the most distinguished officers in the city—and then she learns that McQueen has escaped from jail. Bent on revenge against Eve and with a need to punish more “bad girls” McQueen heads to Dallas, Texas—the place where Eve was found as a child, the place where she killed her own abusive monster when she was only eight years old. With Eve and Roarke in pursuit of McQueen, everything is on the line and secrets from Eve’s past are about to be shockingly revealed.

This novel was hard to read for me because I feel so deeply as a woman towards the victims. But… I have to say that this novel was written very well with a twist that I was not expecting. I promised myself that I would not give any spoilers and I won’t. Let’s just say that an important piece of Eve’s past will come into the light during this investigation. I really loved the plot twist and those that love this series will enjoy it as well. I thought it was great having Eve travel back to Dallas. It fells like a closing of a circle. Everything has led up to this point and I really relieved on how it ended.

The romance was the best! Absolute best! I love the character of Roarke, well to be honest Roarke and Eve are my favorite couple in the literature world. I enjoy seeing their relationship grow and progress through the series. It makes them more loveable. As for the sex scenes, one would think that as the series progresses the sex would get dull, I can safely say that it does not. It was great and I simple cannot wait to read it again. I’m one of those people who reread the scenes after I have finished the book.

Overall, I give this novel 5 out 5 stars. (Bet you didn’t see that coming). Hahahaha… On a serious note, I only have a few novels left in this series before I have caught up. I also have 6 books that I will get to sometime this week. Please continue checking back I might postpone reading the rest of this series (cause I know the end is coming) and read something different for a while. So if you enjoyed this series with me, let me know- write a comment below. Or if you didn’t like the series post a comment about what romance sub-genere you enjoy and I read a novel from that. Happy Readings everyone!
