From This Moment On by Bella Andre is the second book in the Sullivan series. I had recently reviewed the first and the fifth book in this series and I absolutely fell in love with the Sullivans. Here is a brief background on the novel provided by Goodreads: For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he’s planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.
Nicola Harding is known throughout the world by only one name – Nico – for her catchy, sensual pop songs. Only, what no one knows about the twenty-five year old singer is that her sex-kitten image is totally false. After a terrible betrayal by a man who loved fame far more than he ever loved her, she vows not to let anyone else get close enough to find out who she really is…or hurt her again. Especially not the gorgeous stranger she meets at a nightclub, even though the hunger – and the sinful promises – in his dark eyes make her want to spill all her secrets.
One night is all Nicola and Marcus agree to share with each other. But nothing goes as they plan when instead of simply tangling limbs, they find a deeper connection than either of them could have anticipated. And even though they both try to fight it, growing emotions – and sizzling attraction – keep drawing them closer together.
Close enough for them to wonder if stealing one more secret moment together can ever be enough?
I thought this book was fantastic. It didn’t need any crime drama, or tragic past. It was a simply book about two individuals falling in love. I loved falling with the characters. Nicola is a pop-star that simply wants to be herself and Marcus is a successful vineyard owner. These two were simply great together. Their drama was more about losing a part of yourself when falling in love. The plot was fantastic for those of you that need something different, this book has it. The plot is only focused on the two individuals compromising their careers in a way that will work for both of them and well a few other things that I don’t want to give away. I loved the introduction of the other siblings in the Sullivan family. You only get a small glimpse but it was worth it.
As for the Sex scenes…. definitely steamy. I thought they were great and enjoyable. Remember reading this book may cause heated checks and shortness of breathe but keep reading it will get even better. The sex scenes were not over the top but fit the characters personalities. I thought the amount of scenes were great and did not overshadow the storyline or the emotional connection between the characters.
Overall, I give this novel 5 out 5 kittens. I really loved Marcus and Nicola as characters and cannot wait to read the rest in this series. If you liked this novel, please continue reading the rest of this series. If you didn’t well wait a few moments and I’ll post another review for a different genre. Happy Holidays and Happy Readings!
